How I Stopped Binge Eating and Dieting for Good | My Journey

I had always been active as a kid, and actually had hyperthyroidism which kept me relatively thin during my childhood, but I had radioactive iodine treatment for it in Winter 2013 to make my levels more stable and to avoid Graves Disease. When I ended my freshman year of college, I knew my hyper metabolism wouldn’t last forever (and it didn’t), so I decided to make a healthy lifestyle change. I began a ‘quick fad weight loss’ diet which promised to lose __XX__ amount of pounds in 2 weeks. Basically, it was a 2 week low carb/low calorie diet with my food being limited to protein, veggies, some fruit, and eggs. I remember a lot of those 2 weeks I would obsess over what I could eat after I was done with the diet. I’d look up delicious recipes, or healthified treats, and was pretty much obsessed with the foods that I couldn’t eat during the diet. After the 2 weeks, I lost about 10 pounds (ending around 103 at 5′ ft tall) and I was ECSTATIC. Except for one thing… I didn’t know what to do after the ‘diet’ was done. Double Bunion Surgery Update: Days 1 – 20

For anyone who’s thinking about or will be getting double bunion surgery, this post is for you! I remember when I was preparing for this, I was scouring the internet for anyone else who’s gone through the scary process of not knowing what to expect for recovery time, seeing if it’s worth it, the healing process, and alllll that crazy stuff! So I’m going to write here the timeline so far of my healing process! July 6: Surgery day! Went in around 7:30 am. Didn’t get to the surgery until 10/11 am. The Doctors and nurses were all great. They taught me how to use crutches (the ‘4’ step method: crutch left, step right, crutch right, step left and so one). I got some nice yellow socks. They started the anesthesia, and then I was OUT. Woke up to some hilarious snap chats (see my Bunion Vlogs here). Day 0: Getting home from the hospital Was pretty loopy the first hour, but soon came to. They gave me Percocet, Ibuprofen, and a medication to help with nausea. Luckily, I didn’t experience any nausea or crazy light headedness from all the fluids or medication! Welcome to my (sometimes un)balanced life

Hello everyone! YUP. I’ve started a new blog. And who knows how long I’ll keep up with it… It’s like one of those journals that you buy and swear you’ll update everyday…‘Omg how cool would it be to start a journal, and then 5 years from now read about your life when you were young and carefree…’ etc etc.  I’d commit for the first few days, maybe even a week! But soon enough, the journal would be forgotten, and lost somewhere in the abyss in my room, until 5 years later I’d find it under the bed with dust bunnies all over it and think to myself ‘Oops.. there’s failed journal #98234….’  But I thought, WHY NOT try again, in the form of an online blog. I’ve got so many things coursing through my head, so let’s get this blog rolling and let the #wordvomit and #josieblabbles flow free. Sound good? GOOD 🙂 As you can see, I may not be the most structured writer out there, but that’s what makes it fun. Hopefully you enjoy what you read.
